The role of a substitute teacher is to follow daily routine classroom procedures, policies and assigned classwork in the absence of the classroom teacher. Below are our (4) categories of pay for substitute teachers:

AA Substitute Teachers (Retired Port Jervis City School District Teachers) = $155/Day

A Substitute Teachers (NYS Certified Teachers) = $145/Day

B Substitute Teachers (Bachelors Degree, Non-Certified) = $120/Day

C Substitute Teachers (48 or more College Credits, No Bachelors Degree) = $105/Day

**Proof of College Transcripts must be provided**

Food Service Helpers assist in the routine preparation and serving of food as well as the cleaning of dining and kitchen areas.

General Statement of Duties: Such person should be able to independently perform routine clerical work and/or assist with higher order office responsibilities, much of which involve substantial use of software applications.

Requirements of Applicants:

 1. Graduation from High School or GED Equivalent

School Monitors assist in non-teaching supervisory duties. High School diploma or GED requried. Experience with school aged children in an educational setting preferred. 

Teacher Aides work alongside our classroom teachers by coordinating basic classroom activities and assisting with student engagement and positive behavior.

Successful candidates must possess a High School diploma. Experience with children in an educaitonal setting preferred. 

DESCRIPTION: Cleaners are responsible for the cleanliness and overall appearance of our school buildings. Such work is performed under the supervision of a Head Custodian and a Supervising Head Custodian. Cleaning experience is preferred. 

EXAMPLES OF WORK:  

Sweeping, mopping, waxing, vacuuming of floors;

Washes windows, walls, whiteboard, furniture, blinds, and other building furnishings;

Dusts rooms, hallways, furniture, and other furnishings;

Cleans and replenishes lavatory supplies;

Replacement of light bulbs;

Moving of building supplies, materials, furnishings and building equipment;

Minor paining;

May perform snow removal, shoveling, and salting of sidewalks

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:  Performs professional nursing services at one or more schools in accordance with acceptable health standards, maintains school health records and administers emergency treatment to students and employees.

EXAMPLES OF WORK: 

• Administers first aid and emergency treatment to students and employees;
• Prepares and maintains health records for school authorities;
• Assists the School Physician in physical, visual and auditory screening;
• Prepare records and reports as required.

ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:  Graduation from a school of nursing approved by the State Education Department, Certification in CPR and AED 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT FOR ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS: Possession of NYS Register Nurse License at the time of appointment.
